NAXOS ISLAND TOURS
DEMETER’S TEMPLE IN SANGRI: We reach Sangri, where we visit the restored Temple of goddess Dimitra (6th Century BC) and the impressive museum with the local findings.
DAMALAS : Visit to the restored old olive press and a traditional pottery work-shop.
CHALKI : We visit the neoclassical village with the – over a century old- Citron distillery(since 1896). The “tasting session” and a walk in the village will make you love it!
PANAGIA DROSIANI : One of the oldest churhes in the Balcans, it strikes the visitor with its tiny size as well as the unigue 6th century frescoes. It is a complex of four churches under a central dome.
APIRANTHOS : In the “marble village ” we walk showing you around until the main square. It’s ideal to stroll and take photos in the alleys. Pictures are unique here!
APOLLONAS : Last stop at the village of Apollonas and the unfinished Kouros statue (6thcentury BC). On the way back we follow the fascinating north-eastern coast with the tower of Agia and village of Eggares.
Back to town at 17:00pm. Kids under 12 half price.
ANCIENT AQUADUCT-KOUROS IN MELANES : We have a view of ancient aqueduct remains and we visit KOUROS, an unfinished statue (6th century BC).
KYNIDAROS : The area is famous for the marble quarry where you can take some photos.
STAYROS KERAMOTI: A unique crossroad of the island with awesome view, where we can have a photo stop.
ENAERIOS-PANAGIA ARGOKILIOTISA : We have a view of “enaerios”, means of transportation for the unique Naxian emery, no longer used since 1970s. We end up in Panagia Argokiliotisa, one of the most important sanctuaries of the island. We can enjoy a great view of Small Cyclades and villages, such as Atsipapi, dated back to the 15th century.
EMERY MINES : We visit a real emery mine with the escort of an expert, of course!
KORONOS : We visit a real village ideal for strolls. We have lunch break at a traditional restaurant with local cuisine, biological products and live Greek Naxian music.
APIRANTHOS : We have a short walk in the marble village up to the main square. Perfect place for taking fotos. On our way back to Chora we cross Filoti and Chalki.
MOUTSOUNA : Last stop at the port of Emery where we can enjoy swimming or having a relaxing coffee by the seashore.
