Patmos<\/h2>\n

Patmos is known as the island where Saint John the Divine wrote the Apocalypse in 95 AD.<\/p>\n

The island\u2019s scenery changes as we go from fertile valleys that spread until the other side of the island where there are only rocky hills.<\/p>\n

The island\u2019s capital, Chora (Patmos) is a picturesque village build around the monastery devoted to St. John the Divine.
\nSkala is the islands port, used since antiquity for its deep waters.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    Visit the monastery of “Saint John the Divine”, looking more like a fortress because it was built in 1088 AD on the ruins of the ancient temple of goddess Artemis.<\/p>\n

    In the area of Scala the ruins of Acropolis, the ancient capital of the island.<\/p>\n

    Beaches<\/strong><\/p>\n

    There is the sandy beach of Grikos with the shallow waters and the beach of Psili Ammos the main beach on the island. Also the big bay in Kampos with the white sand, and Apollo, Livadaki and Kalogiroi in Lampi gulf.<\/p>\n

    In Skala you can swim in Aspri and St. John beach.<\/p>\n<\/div>
