The prefecture of Magnesia is known for its rich mythological tradition and its peculiar beautiful landscapes. The name Magnesia derives from its ancient residents, the Magnetes. According to the myths, from there Jason had begun his trip with his ship Argo to Colchis seeking for the Golden Fleece. Furthermore it was the place where used to live the legendaries centaurs.<\/p>\n

Volos is the capital of the Magnesia Prefecture and the third largest port in Greece. A beautiful town that is surrounded by the Pagasitic Gulf and spreads to the foothills of Pelion. Because of the port and its geographic position \u03b9\u03c4 is an important industrial, commercial and financial centre. It is characterized by its well organized street layout with beautiful neoclassic buildings, squares and the beach with famous tavernas and tsipouradika that enchant the visitor.<\/p>\n

Pelion, the mountain of the centaurs is one of the most beautiful places in Greece with amazing forests and leafy slopes. In the picturesque villages of Pelion stand luxury hotels and traditional guest houses where you can enjoy your vacations. The place is ideal for hiking tourism and during winter months for skiing at the ski resort. In the summer you can swim into Pelion\u2019s beaches of the teal waters and the lush vegetation.<\/p>\n<\/div>
